Scott Carde, Beyond Domaining's founder, had invested thousands of dollars in domain names during the mid 2000's. Then, in 2008, parking revenues began to plummet. He knew there was a growing disconnect between what advertisers were paying for clicks and what he was earning from parking companies such as Parked.com, Fabulous, Domain Sponsor, NameDrive, Sedo, and GoDaddy Cash Parking. The parking companies had grown fat and happy leaching off domainers' investments and offered little discernible product innovation in return.
As revenues continued to plummet, Scott began losing sleep over his souring investments in domain names, lamenting:
"If I only knew a little bit of programming, then I could launch my own SEO friendly web sites with Google AdSense.
I'm sick of domain parking companies skimming off my hard earned cash."
Losing patience, Scott finally decided to do something about it. He spent a full year learning the ins and outs of open source content management systems and began launching blogs, message boards, image galleries, discussion forums, web sites, ecommerce sites, search engines, and social networks, all monetized with Google AdSense and Amazon Affiliate Revenue. The results surpassed all expectations.
Domain names that once earned $3- $5 per month were now earning $3 - $5 per day, or $1,000 - $2,000 per year
A light bulb went off in his head saying:
"If I can just come up with a system to rapidly launch these sites in an assembly line fashion,
I'll be free of the shackles of domain parking, and can unleash the true value of my
portfolio of domain name investments."
